Dreadball Terraton

Last year, I went crazy and waaaaaay over did my bidding on the kickstarter for Dreadball.  I have enough Dreadball figures to last a lifetime!

The 'season 3' figures came in a month or so ago, and I sat down yesterday and started painting some of the terratons.  Wasnt really sure about a color scheme, but this is what I came up with:

The white gets washed out in the light saturation I use when taking pictures, but it turned out pretty well, even though it doesnt show it.  White is always tough, especially when it is armor.

I think the red skin turned out really well.  Again, its kinda washed out, but I like it

I wasnt really sure about the green and the white (im still not) - but for now, its what Im going with (instead of green, I thought about blue, red, or black).

And, what a great morning to be a Gamecock fan!  It was the miracle in Columbia.....Missouri that is!  Connor Shaw saved the Cocks, and brought them back from 17-0 at the start of the 4th quarter to keep the hopes of winning the SEC East alive!

Female Dreadball Team

Finished up a ladies Dreadball team this weekend.  Not sure what the name will be....

Stomping, number 67, Offense

Dreadball Referee.  I wanted to paint her up a with a little different scheme then what I have been seeing, but I couldnt come up with it.

Next up is Iraqi mayhem.  Ive got 6 pieces of armor and a platoon of Iraqi soldiers on my paint desk.  Its probably my biggest project to date.  All should be pretty easy to paint - most of the soldiers will be in green uniforms (a scattering of camo in there) and the armor will be......wait for it.....Iraqi Sand.  Primed everything last night, and started working on some skin.

Dreadball Team Complete

Phoenix Syndicate Firestorm!

These are the first figures in a long time that I have been disappointed with, both from a sculpt perspective, but also my paint job.  The sculpts are boring (well, the strikers are pretty good actually, but the other two?  Bah), and they werent really all that fun to paint.

My paint job was kinda crappy.  I tried to create fire going up the entire left side of each figure, but instead, I got a blobby mess of yellow, orange, and red.  On a good note, I think the red armor itself turned out pretty good!

Guards

Strikers

Jacks

Next up are a bunch of 10mm figures Im working on for the yearly Pendraken competition here.  Go enter!

Quick Dreadball post

Im working on a Dreadball team at the moment.  This was taken with my ipad, so pardon the quality, but I think I can still get my point across.

For the uniforms of the entire team, ive tried to paint flames on the side (hard to see in this picture, but its there).  Instead of flames, it looks more like, eh, molten lava maybe?  Im not terribly thrilled, but I think it will work out ok in the end.

The team name is 'Phoenix Syndicate Firestorm'  (from the game 'fiction', it seems most teams are backed by a corporation or something along those lines).  The Phoenix Syndicate are the leaders in Dreadball player resurrection!

And also, my cat!  YOLO bitches!

Just pledged Dreadball...

...Bloodbowl's futuristic brother from Mantic Games.  Check it out.

Dreadball Kickstarter

In my opinion, Games Workshop really let Blood Bowl go to waste by not really supporting it, and now it's paying the price.  Mantic really is on to something here.
