I hate decals
Finally got around to painting this Federation Heavy Cruiser. After what I thought was a decent paint job, I pulled out a sheet of decals I had for it! I already hate decals as it is, but I finally get it on the ship.......AND THE FIRST DAMN DECAL HAS YELLOWED!!! (It wasnt an important one - it was only the one that said 'USS ENTERPRISE' on it!!!!) It was all I could do to manage to scrape it off
So, here the ship is, no identifiers....a waste

Needed a decent paint job to happen
After the past couple sets of minis that I kinda thought I did subpar on, I think this fella (spaceman? Zombie survivor? Action hero?) turned out pretty good. This set of reds are my goto colors. Thanks for looking!
Spacemen and Spaceladies
Faces turned out alright. But orange and white are two of my 'weak colors'. And it shows!!!
I also tried to do some green 'glow' on the bases to make an 'Aliens' inspired look. Meh.

Astronauts
I picked these up from the GZG table as 'freebies' a few years ago at Salute, and they just looked fun to paint

Sci Fi guys on Mars
Tried a slightly different paint technique here. The results were decent, but I need some more practice. If nothing else, I learned a few new tricks.

MI-8 Hip Assault Gunship
Iraqi helicopter, circa Iran-Iraq war, and also first Gulf War, 1991.
Also, a new paint style? Ive been wanting to take my painting to 'the next level', and ive hit a wall. This latest figure is WIP of my first attempt at using James Wappel's 'Shaded Basecoat' technique. I like the results, but I need some more practice.

Damsel #4. But in distress????
Wanted to try out a new camo I thought of. Think it turned out pretty well.
For whatever reason, her face came out smooth like a china doll - just perfect (even though its hard to tell from the picture)! Wish I could figure out what I did!!!!

Apocalypse now.
I quickly painted up a figure for the Lead Adventure forum's Apocalypse painting club. Every few months, they do a 'lets paint a bunch of a specific thing, and once we get to 100 'things' we are done'. Ive always wanted to do it, but it always finishes too damn quickly! Well, I beat them to it this time!!!
So, this guy is 'apocalyptic'.
Not my best paint job - probably a bit too hurried, plus the figure wasnt one of my favorites (from Copplestone Castings). Oh well. Its done, and im 'in the club' now!
Next up - check out what Im wearing today:
Alshon Jeffery played for South Carolina, and has taken the NFL by storm this year, gaining over 1000 yards receiving and hitting several highlight reels along the way. He was also just named to the PRO BOWL!!!!

Sci Fi Armor
Sci Fi minis typically arent my thing, but I have had my eye on all of these for quite some time. I saw some of the Rebel Mini stuff at Historicon years ago....
