Another year gone by. Holy crap.
Ive been playing SWTOR for the past few weeks. I finally managed to stop playing long enough to upload some screenshots. Its a really good game, but sadly, imho, its only WoW dressed up in Wookie's clothing.

3 billion human lives ended on August 29th, 1997.
Some "Not Terminator" Terminators from Copplestone Castings. They turned out pretty well - never would guess that Ive got 5 different colors of silver on them!!! As per usual, my photos dont do them justice...
Ive got 10 Foundry police officers on the table now, but due to the way the rest of my nights this week are looking, I may not get them finished before the end of the year. If I dont, I want to wish you all a very HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Shameless plug for Crossover Miniatures
Over the past several months, Ive been on a super hero miniature kick. See here, here, here, and here.
Back in early November, I contacted Soapy, the famous Gripping Beast sculptor, about creating a personalized XForce Wolverine for me. Things were moving on at a rapid pace - I had found some good comic pics, Soapy had asked a few questions, and things were looking good.
Then, I caught wind of the new Crossover Miniatures project that Soapy and Rusti had embarked upon, and I was immediately hooked. See Soapy's blog here: Soapy's blog Their idea? Create a customizable super hero miniature line! They are creating 'generic' super hero bodies, along with more generic type heads that can be mixed and matched, creating several different types of heroes. Also in the works are several goon types. Im sure that once this takes off, there will be all kinds of super heroes and villains in the pipeline!
Ive long thought that there was a market for generic super heroes that people could paint up in a way they saw fit, and this project fits this niche PERFECTLY. What a great way to start the super hero team that YOU have always wanted to see!!!
Soapy and Rusti have a Kickstarter page up here. If you have never looked at Kickstarter, the idea is simple. You pledge an amount of money you are willing to spend to help back the project. If the project meets its goal, you then receive the award for the amount of money you pledged. I have pledged some money for this - its something I have always wanted to see, and now I have my chance. Havent you always wanted to see this too????? Go to Kickstarter and help see that this project gets funded!!!

US Soldier in Multicam - the lime green version of Multicam
Ive tried several times to get Multicam right. This is the closest I have gotten. I think I was dead on until the very final color which was tiny blobs of a 50/50 mix of a cream and light green color. Turned out alright, but Im still not there yet.
Mini from Empress Miniatures - again, totally worth painting and a flawless sculpt IMO.

The last of my TOR pictures from Beta.
Jeez, im like a little boy waiting for Christmas.
This is from my time playing as a Sith Inquisitor (which breaks into two advanced classes - Sith Sorcerer, which would be The Emperor and a Sith Assassin - which would be Darth Maul). Im nearly settled on playing as an Imperial Agent Sniper, but I gotta tell ya - having a lightsaber is fucking cool.
Korriban - the Sith Inquistior and Sith Warrior starting world. You can see in this pic here that my character has a training sword.
"Your lightsaber, my young apprentice" - I had just gotten it, and I was pretty stoked. Not many movie sound effects mean as much as the sound of a saber firing up
A taxi in the Imperial city "Kaas City" on Dromund Kaas, I didnt play as a Republic character, so I dont know what Coruscant looks like, but this must be its Imperial partner
If I can get lucky enough to get in to the launch early, there are only 13 days left!!!

November 2011 Totals
November is finished. Got a good bit done as I switched from 20mm to 28mm for the majority of the month. However, I lost two weekends to SW:TOR, which is prime painting time for me. Still, im pretty happy with my production considering I lost 4 weekend days. I finished Gore-rot for a competition, the Manchester City football club, three zombies, and 4 Zulu warriors. 20 28mm figures completed.
I did great as far as spending this month....that is until Black Friday rolled around. I spent $170 that day on several different things from The Warstore, including some Foundry stuff that was on sale, and some Pig Iron sci fi stuff. I also bought 5 or 6 zombie hunters from CoolMiniOrNot (which arrived yesterday btw). My December resolution: DO NOT SPEND ANY MONEY ON FIGURES IN DECEMBER!!! Im trying to save up for my trip to Salute in April, and I do not need to be buying stuff now. We will see how that goes.
1 'Gore-rot' (Mannequin Miniatures)
11 Soccer players (Eureka Miniatures)
3 zombies (Victory Force Miniatures)
4 Zulu married warriors (Empress Miniatures)
In progress, November/December, 2011:
20mm Infantry in progress: 8 (which I shelved for all of November)
8 US DEVGRU (Elhiem Miniatures)
28mm Infantry in progress: 6
1 John Rambo (The Assault Group)
4 Taliban (Empress Miniatures)
1 US Army (Empress Miniatures)
I didnt get to the DEVGRU that I have primed and ready to go. I was in a mood to do something totally different, but I may get to them this month. But, I will be working on Rambo and the US Army figure next, and then the Taliban. "The Old Republic" comes out on Dec 20th, however, I preordered the game MONTHS ago and I think Ill be able to get in on Dec 15th, not to mention the holidays (gag). So, most likely, whatever doesnt get done before the 15th probably wont get done this month.
Yearly Completed Totals:25-28mm infantry completed: 69
25-28mm cavalry completed: 3
20mm infantry completed: 135
15mm infantry completed: 33
15mm armor completed: 1
1/1200 naval vessel completed: 1
1/72 armor completed: 11
1/72 aircraft completed: 1
Turtle Tank completed: 1
1/285 armor completed: 5
Buildings completed: 1
Gameboard completed: 1
Zombie hunters (CoolMiniOrNot) - ~$25

Zulu warriors
I picked these up at Historicon a couple years ago. Im 99% sure they are Empress Miniatures. Awesome sculpts - ive never seen anything come out of Empress that wasnt 100% perfect.
I was in the mood to do something a little different....and a little different they are!!!

Some more SWTOR pictures
Got a few more pics from SWTOR from this weekend's beta test
First off, a couple from the Imperial Fleet
Huttball - totally awesome. A game where you try to get the ball past the goal line.
The arrival/departure gate on Dromund Kaas. You can see my companion, Kaliyo Djannis, to the left.
I think I still have a few more pics. Ill try to get them up tomorrow.

More zombies, and The Walking Dead
Holy shit! Did you see TWD last night? A great way to end the mid season finale (WTF is a mid season finale????)
Some zombies I completed over the holiday - I think they are Victory Force miniatures?

Manchester City Football Club
Ive been a closet soccer fan most of my life, but over the past few years, ive really loved watching the Premier League in England. At the time, I picked a team that was good, but not the best, and that was Manchester City. The more I watched them, the more I started to love them - especially Carlos Tevez (now, come to find out he is a whiny asshole). Now, im more of a David Silva fan - he is my type of player - always looking to pass, flashy, but no too much so, and appears to be a good team player
But anyway, in tribute of my "fandom", I have painted a starting 11 - 25mm from Eureka Miniatures
Goalkeeper Joe Hart
Defensemen Micah Richards, Vincent Kompany, Joleon Lescott, Alexander Kolarov
Midfielders Samir Nasri, Yaya Toure, Gareth Barry (the hair on GB is a little crazy!), David Silva

Gore-Rot
Im going to enter a contest on the Miniature Heroes website. The rules are one Reaper Miniature of any kind, and specifically, 'Gore-Rot' from Mannequin Miniatures. I have several Reaper Minis painted already, including Superman that I did a few weeks back, but I think Im gonna go with the barbarian I painted a few months ago.
Here is Gore-Rot - finished him up yesterday. He turned out REALLY well, but the pics dont really do him justice. My mom is coming up for Thanksgiving, and Im gonna see if she can get better pics.

and, the barbarian - guess I have to go look him up to see what his name is before I enter him. Hehehe I said 'enter him'

Some pics from the SW TOR beta
Got a chance to play in the Star Wars: The Old Republic beta this weekend. While, what Im about to post is technically breaking the beta agreement, I dont think its anything too 'spoiling'.
Any of you interested? Its a great game - very much WoW in the Star Wars universe in my opinion, but I thought WoW was great too until I lost interest - not to mention the last I heard, there were well over 6 million paying customers. Hard to beat that right?
Anyway, the game is playing great right now (due out Dec 20th here in the States). I had a few minor crashes to desktop, and minor lag in a few places, but my laptop is older (5 or 6 years?) and it ran the game fine (I did have to turn the graphics settings down a bit, but not too much). It could easily be released today, and it would be fine.
I was pressing Prt Scrn like crazy (most games have a screenshot folder), but sadly, much to my chagrin, that isnt implemented yet. These are just a few that I manged to put in MS Paint and save.
Without further ado:
I played as Raptoria, the Twilek Sith Inquisitor, and quit when I got my lightsaber around level 10. She seemed pretty gimp as far as damage goes, and she had no healing powers yet. Cool class though - a Sith Sorcerer, one of the advanced classes of the Inquisitor would be Darth Sidious.
Next up was Kale, the Zabrak Imperial Agent. The IA brings some pretty heavy firepower. I was easily finishing off groups of mobs that were at my level, taking very little damage (with one shot, maybe 2). The IA also brings darts, grenades, and the technological might of the Empire.
Nemro the Hutt's cantina
I had originally planned on playing this game as a Bounty Hunter (who wouldnt want to pretend to be Boba Fett????) but after my time with the IA, im not sure thats the way its gonna go. Ill be playing in the next round of beta testing - ill have to give the BH a go then.
