SOA Chinook
I almost forgot - finished the spec ops Chinook this weekend too. 1/72 scale. got some silvering around the decals that i cant kill (I forgot to 'Future' it first) and the decal setting solution is leaving stains on the paint. This has been an all around disaster of a model (99% of which has been my fault), and Im glad its done.
Get to da choppah!
Completed the 'Hurn Headtaker' from Heresy Miniatures. This is a great miniature - if you paint little men, and love Predator, this is a MUST figure.

A couple more "Not a Predator" WIP shots
From my phone this morning:
The red armor really looks good - its 'Ruby Red' from Reaper, so it has a metallic sheen to it. Im going to add some highlights, and then dull it down with a couple washes, but I definitely wanted it to have a shiny look about it.

BAWR - A couple more zombies
Ok, Zombies are tough enough to paint as it is, but one with very little facial sculpting??? These are from Victory Force Miniatures. Neither came out like I wanted, ok though.... The chick - bah, her face sculpt was crap. Not to mention, I screwed up painting her white eyes on the pale skin. So, I just splattered her with blood!
Butt!
Butt!

Where has the time gone - August 2011 Totals
August FLEW by. I guess the fact that it was high 90s/low 100s all month pretty much made sure that free time was all spent inside. I got several things done, and several other things started on.
Dammit! I cant go a month without buying little men!!!
~60 dollars on zombies and an Admiral Kirk knockoff (Victory Force Miniatures)
12 Taliban (Liberation and Britannia Miniatures)
7 Special Forces (Liberation Miniatures)
28mm infantry completed: 2
1 zombie (Victory Force Miniatures)
1 Admiral Kirk (Victory Force Miniatures)
In progress, August/September, 2011:
20mm Infantry in progress: 28
28 US Marines (Elhiem Miniatures)
28mm Infantry in progress: 2
2 zombies (Victory Force Miniatures)
1/72 aircraft in progress: 1
1 Chinook (Italeri)
Also, 1 game board in progress!!!
Doesnt really looked like I finished that much in August, and I guess technically, I didnt. However, I received all of the US Marines I was waiting on from Elhiem, and I started working on a batch of 28 of them (as of this posting, ive finished 16 of them, but they will go under September's totals). Ive also started the Chinook, as well as a couple zombies.
Hoping to have the Chinook finished by the end of the weekend (?) and maybe make some progress on some more marines.
Once I get the Chinook done, I will have all of the figures necessary for my first Force on Force game. I just need to finish up the mountainous game board I started on in the middle of the month. I dont really know whats facing me with that...
Yearly Completed Totals:25-28mm infantry completed: 41
25-28mm cavalry completed: 3
20mm infantry completed: 95
15mm infantry completed: 33

Italeri Special Forces Chinook
This is a 1/72 model of a Chinook from Italeri. It has been the hardest model I have ever put together, by far. Im not a huge fan of the kit itself....it appears to me that Italeri just took their original Chinook kit, and retooled it by adding some parts. There were several pieces that had to be totally cut off of the main frame (which was total crap!), parts that didnt fit well, as well as parts that didnt fit AT ALL (!)
However, I love the Chinook as a chopper - its ugly and chunky, but has gotten the job done for 50 years now. This one represents a US spec forces bird, and will represent the downed chopper on a Takur Ghar board if I ever get around to it.
Next up is masking off the windows and glass (which is gonna be tough), and then a paint job. Maybe it will be finished up by the weekend
Pilots turned out well too, although you cant see them all that great. From Liberation minis...
