More Bloodbowl Ogres

These bad boys take time, but so far, im happy with the results...

#3 Sultan Aladeen, player and owner of the Ogrelando Predators!  Although there have been many instances of player owners in Bloodbowl history, Aladeen becomes the first from Araby.  Not much is known of this reclusive ogre - he just rode in out of the desert and started buying up players!  (Thanks, Corey, for the flag!)  This is a slightly converted ogre from Games Workshop.

Next up, #6, Steve N Thorg, little known brother of Bloodbowl star player Morg N Thorg....well, brothers from another mother anyway!  This figure is another ogre from Heresy miniatures, and of the seven ogres I have for the team, this was the best sculpt/positioning for a Bloodbowl player

So, I still have 4 more ogres to go - I think Im looking at AT LEAST a couple more weeks to get them finished.  Im also painting a unit of african militia when I cant stand to look at ogres any more!

Brian Ogrelacher and the Ogrelando Predators

Ladies and Gentleworms, I introduce #5, Brian Ogrelacher!

The leader and most widely known player on the newly formed ogre Bloodbowl team, the Ogrelando Predators!

Brian is best know for his recent run-ins with Bloodbowl commish Good-El over a goal fixing scandal.  So far, Good-El hasnt been able to prove his allegations.

I cant believe I havent posted in nearly 2 weeks.  Sacrilege!  To be honest, the Predators are much more difficult and taxing to paint then I could have imagined.  I have finished the skin on all 7 ogres (which are all more like 40mm figures) and some of the work has been done on others too.

Im also working on some 20mm African militia, and I want to start working on 10mm Carthaginians soon.

10mm ACW Command Stand

FINALLY got around to painting up a small command stand for my 10mm ACW that I originally posted here.  Great - just what I need - another scale, another project, etc, etc, etc!

Used a new method of basing 10mm figures, as suggested by one of the members of the Pendraken forum.  Left base is the one I just did - right is the one I did last month.  I think the left looks more realistic.

All greened up with no where to go

Ive been spending most of my 'little man time' the past several days working on my Ogre Blood Bowl team.  They are going to have the 'Predator' motif, and that will include scales on some of the armor, as well as a few 'trophies' here and there.  I finished up the greenstuff on these guys yesterday - Im pretty happy with the way they have turned out so far.

I finished up a couple more bikers to round out the pack from Copplestone Castings.  Overall, a great pack to paint with lots of character.

Damn.  I just cant help myself.  I was actually talking to my wife about this - I buy stuff ALL THE TIME because I see a figure I love, and Im afraid the company will either go under, the mold will go bad, or just worried Ill never get the chance to purchase it again.

Oh well - this month I finished up buying my Ogre team - I bought 4 more ogres, the coaching staff, and the snotlings that round out the team from Heresy, Impact Miniatures, and Games Workshop - that came out to around 80 dollars.  Also, purchased the ACW Command Unit from Pendraken (as well as some other stuff) for another 20 bucks.  Cha ching!  Add $100 to the spent column!
