Exciting news from the Raptor's Nest!

Just got word that Pendraken selected MY ENTRY as 'Pendraken's Favorite' over at The Guild in their sponsored contest.  Earlier this week, I found out that my entry got 4 votes, but I finished near the bottom of all the entries. Frankly, I was pretty disappointed, as I thought my entries were better than that.  I won a 10 pound voucher from Leon and the guys over at Pendraken...already know what I want to get!

I did this for my mom for Christmas.  As usual, my camera pulls in the 'black' and the shadow a bit too much around the eyes.  But, in reality, this is probably my best figure ever.

28mm Navy SEALS from Eureka.  These were absolutely perfect miniatures to paint.  Not only are they totally accurate from an equipment standpoint, they are sculpted beautiful with really nice creases and folders.  If you are into this sort of thing, I definitely recommend.

USA wins important game, plus a soccer question

The USA played an important game against Jamaica last night in CONCACAF World Cup qualifying.  We lost on Friday night in Jamaica, which was a bit of an upset.  The USA needed a win, or else they would have been in a hole, needing two wins by relatively large margins to move forward to the final WC qualifying table.

Clint Dempsey wouldnt let that happen:

USA wins 1-0 to go into a 3 way tie in its group, relieving much of the pressure they were feeling last night.

I do have a football question for you today though!  When the goalie has a goal kick, or when he has picked up the ball and drop kicks it down the field, why do they do that???  Over the past 5 years or so, ive really turned into a huge soccer fan - I really understand a lot of the tactics and things that happen.  However, it seems that possession is SOOOOO important, but the boot downfield seems like its about 50/50 when the goalie's team gets the ball and retains possession.  It seems like it makes more sense to pass the ball out to the defenders to move the ball upfield doesnt it???

Blood Bowl team finally TOTALLY finished!

Im not willing to say this was a labor of love...more like just a labor.  I finished up 13 extra players/coaches/staff last night, rounding out the rest of the Ogrelando Predators.

August 2012 Totals

I gotta figure out a better way to keep up with my totals.

August slowed down for me again.  I got back into SWTOR at the beginning of the month and started playing Guild Wars 2 near the end of the month.  That kinda stuff pretty much crushes my free painting time.

I did finally manage to complete the damn ogres, painted a couple more super heroes, and got on with some 10mm horsies.

Believe it or not, I didnt buy anything new this month.  My pile of little men is massive enough as it is - ill never get to it all.
