Bloggers For Charity

I recently came across a cool site and charity event over at the Bloggers For Charity Blog.  They will be running a skirmish wargame at Triples 2014 in Sheffield, UK next May for two different charities - Men Matter and Help For Heroes, two very worthwhile causes.

I have reached out to the guys running it to offer to help paint some figures, but whether they are interested or not, I thought this was a cool venture, and worth looking into!  Go check it out!

Memorial Day Weekend

This weekend in the US (and particularly Monday) is when we all remember the men and women who have died serving our country.  I have lots of relatives including my father and grandfathers who served in Vietnam and WW2 respectively, as well as many people still living who have been in our armed forces at one time or another.

I saw a good quote the other day - dont know where it came from, so I cant give a correct reference, but Im sure the message is all that matters:  A soldier is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to their country for an amount up to and including their life. 

Thank you to all of the Americans, and also all of the other soldiers from other countries around the world who gave their lives protecting freedom and our way of life.

Not gonna win any awards with these - I had no idea how to paint either one!  After seeing pictures, I think both the SD and the cruisers could stand another wash or two of a darker color.

Into Darkness and TIE Fighters

Good weekend that went by WAAAAAAAAAY too fast.

I went and saw ST: Into Darkness this weekend.

Really, really good movie.  I wont post any spoilers here, but Star Trek fan or not, you should check this one out.

I didnt get much little man painting done this weekend.  I was about to start working on some Khurasan zombies, but 'Season 2' of Dreadball came in, so Ive started working on the female team.  But, I did finish some Imperial forces from Studio Bergstrom:

Lots of irons in the fire

I must have ADD, and it must be KICKING right now.  Ive got about a million different things I want to work on or am working on now.  Sorry some of the pics are shit - I took under heavy light with my ipad.

Currently, Im working on a couple units of 15mm Saracen spearmen.  Ive handpainted the shields, and that took forever.  Im down to only the 'command' group (you can see them at the back) and the flags.
