There was a lego convention in Raleigh today. I thought 'cool - maybe there will be some awesome stuff that adults have built' (after all, have you ever seen some of the aircraft carriers and battleships that people have made?)
Huge mistake.
Im not sure what I was thinking, but it was a kid zoo in there. Ugh. My wife and I went for about an hour. I was done after about 15 minutes, but my wife convinced me to hang in for a little bit.
There were a few cool things however
A massive battleship....USS Missouri. You can see the minifigs on the deck to get a good sense of scale at how big this thing is.
A castle and working train - you can see the train at the bottom
Minifigs! Probably my favorite part of lego. But, check out the prices on them! If you look on the top row, there is a Kylo Ren for 30 bucks. This was as close as we could get - most of the time the people flooding the figs were at least 3 deep, sometimes 4 or 5.
For Corey
First thing I did when I walked about of the convention center? Washed my hands. Even though I dont think I touched a single thing.
Best advice I have? Dont go to a lego convention, but look at others pictures on the internet.

AAAAHHHHHHHCCCKKKKKK!!!! That battleship and the Me262s are AWESOME looking. Dang.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the Freddy too. Sorry the crowds were stupid. Nice pictures!
Those are expensive, too many kids would have pissed me off too!
ReplyDeleteKids. Ugh.
ReplyDeleteThe ships are awesome! The prices for the figures are awefull! I think this is a good summary of that convention!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the pictures!
Greetings
